Six Acre Nurseries was established over 40 years ago by the Morris family. Previously located at the Stanford Hall Estate in Stanford on Soar, the Nursery moved to the Costock site around 1980.

Over the years Six Acre Nurseries has developed a reputation for high quality plants and providing excellent support and advice to both the general public and professional gardeners, landscapers and horticulturalists.

The Six Acre Nurseries team is made up of skilled and knowledgeable horticulturalists who can provide you with all of the advice and support you need.
We have a large and varied stock of plants – of which we grow the majority on site. We also source from specially selected growers from around the country and across Europe.

The previous owners Mr & Mrs J. Morris retired in 2017 and Six Acres was purchased by Helen Sedgwick and Liz Wells.

Although new to the nursery world, Helen and Liz are experienced business owners within Leicestershire.
Helen and Liz run Six Acre Nurseries alongside their other company WHM Work Connections.

Set up in 2011 WHM Work Connections supports adults with Learning Disabilities to develop skills, gain qualifications and get into work. With a modern approach to day care provision WHM supports individuals within purpose built skills centres and within the local community.

Based on working dairy and arable farms the service offers a vast range of opportunities and facilities to support the development of skills required to become more independent and work ready. For a county with a strong agricultural tradition, there are clear benefits in drawing on our farming heritage in Leicestershire and combining the care of the land with the care of people.

This was also the reasoning behind the purchase of Six Acre Nurseries, which offers a fantastic learning environment for the individuals to gain skills, work experience and carry out horticultural qualifications.
The nursery also provides an excellent opportunity for the individuals to sell the products they have made and grown via their CIC company Countryside Enterprises.
